What to Expect on the Tour
Our standard American sector tour is anything but standard. This carefully curated experience blends powerful stories, expert insight, and flexible pacing to create a memorable and meaningful day.
You’ll visit the most iconic and moving sites in the American D-Day story:
Utah Beach
The westernmost of the five landing beaches, Utah was the unexpected success of D-Day. We’ll walk the same sands where the 4th Infantry Division came ashore with lighter resistance than anticipated. Learn how airborne troops secured the causeways inland, and how coordination helped make Utah a turning point.
Sainte-Mère-Église
The first town liberated on D-Day, Sainte-Mère-Église is where 82nd Airborne paratroopers dropped under fire in the middle of the night. You’ll hear the incredible story of John Steele, whose parachute caught on the church tower—and whose real-life experience inspired a Hollywood moment.
Omaha Beach
Omaha was the bloodiest landing site, where the 1st and 29th Infantry Divisions faced fierce German resistance, harsh terrain, and devastating losses. As we explore the cliffs and sands, we’ll bring to life the courage and chaos of the landing, and the acts of heroism that turned the tide.
Pointe du Hoc
Perched between Utah and Omaha, this dramatic cliffside was scaled by U.S. Army Rangers to neutralize German artillery positions. You’ll walk among the original craters, bunkers, and casemates still scarred from the battle.
Normandy American Cemetery
Overlooking Omaha Beach, this immaculate and solemn resting place honors more than 9,300 fallen Americans. As we visit the memorial, the wall of the missing, and the perfectly aligned headstones, we take time to reflect—and to remember.
